”Creativity is my life, and it takes on many different forms. Even when I am not painting, the creative process is always a part of me – from ceramics to plants and garden design, to construction and renovation. I feel content when I get to create beautiful areas around my house or in my garden that you can rest your eyes on.
And that comes round again in my painting. When I create, I am often affected by what I surround myself with. And because I love gardens, plants and forestry nature and organic patterns are always visible in my art.
The medium that has my heart hooked at the moment is alcohol ink. Unlike aquarelle colours alcohol ink is a highly pigmented fluent ink that is moved and diluted using rubbing alcohol. It is a difficult medium to master but it has a vibrancy and boldness in the colours that I just love and the effects you can achieve can be mind-blowing.”
